Nashville, TN, September 20, 2019 BOLDplanning Inc., the nation’s frontrunner in preparedness planning consulting and software, announced today the addition of Emily Long as Senior Consultant.

Ms. Long will provide hands-on project support for the development, improvement and exercising of Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans and Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs). She will also actively participate in community workshops for the development and updating of Hazard Mitigation Plans (HMPs). Further, Long will provide grant writing services, helping organizations secure the funding needed to achieve their preparedness goals.

Prior to joining the BOLDplanning team, Long served as the Training and Program Manager for the District of Columbia Primary Care Association (DCPCA). There, she designed, implemented and facilitated comprehensive training and development programs. 

Ms. Long also served as the Emergency Preparedness Program Coordinator, providing support for preparedness efforts and serving as a liaison between the health and medical coalitions. In this role, she facilitated annual needs assessments of health centers. Additionally, she supported the evaluation of preparedness planning tools, ultimately making a recommendation to implement the BOLDplanning platform.

Prior to DCPCA, Ms. Long served as Program Manager for Inova HealthNET (Inova Health Systems), Public Health Information Coordinator for the Arthritis Foundation (National Office), Associate Director of Health and Wellness for the Arthritis Foundation (Mid-Atlantic Region) and as a Territory Manager for EMPI, Inc./DJO.

Long earned her M..A. in Kinesiology & Sport Science from East Tennessee State University, and her B.S. in Athletic Training at Alabama’s Troy University. She has also completed numerous professional development programs in business and grant writing, compliance and ethics, and labor relations. Most recently, Long completed training with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), earning her certification as a Professional Continuity Practitioner (PCP).
