Located in Orlando, the Central Florida Disaster Medical Coalition (CFDMC) continues to support the efforts of member healthcare facilities to be more resilient to disasters and disruptions such as COVID-19. It also strives to meet the emergency preparedness conditions of participation set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). And, it does so across all nine counties associated with the East Central Florida Domestic Security Task Force, Region 5, which includes: Brevard, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, St. Lucie, and Volusia.
In keeping with its mission (and its schedule), CFDMC, in partnership with Tennessee-based BOLDplanning, recently moved forward with its plans to conduct two days of Continuity of Operations (COOP) workshops. Only this time, given the pandemic, they did so safely and remotely through Zoom videoconferencing versus in person like in December 2019.
The online COOP workshops took place on Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, 2020. They were facilitated by BOLDplanning’s Lead Healthcare Planner and Global Solutions Manager, James Woulfe, CHPCP, CBCP, PCP (Level 1). Over sixteen healthcare facilities participated in the planning activities.
BOLDplanning hopes everyone is staying safe and healthy as we navigate through this period of national emergency. We thank all the planners for their hard work and dedication to making their communities even more resilient.
