BOLDplanning, a division of Agility, and the Judicial Council of California (JCC) partnered on May 1-2, 2023, to deliver scenario-based workshops for Superior Courts in Central and Northern California. The workshops, driven by realistic disaster scenarios, were conducted to test the knowledge and understanding of designated planners (primary and secondary team members) concerning the courts’ continuity of operations (COOP) plans.

COOPs help ensure public and private sector organizations can continue to perform their essential functions during various emergencies, including natural, human-caused, technological, and national security emergencies.

Tennessee-based BOLDplanning and the JCC have collaborated on continuity, site security, and emergency response planning since 2007. Today, the JCC has over 200 organizational plans stored and maintained within the company’s online planning platform. It is the solution of choice for more than 10,000 emergency, continuity, and hazard mitigation plans nationwide.

The Judicial Council is the policymaking body of the California courts, the largest court system in the nation. Under the leadership of the Chief Justice and per the California Constitution, the council is responsible for ensuring the consistent, independent, impartial, and accessible administration of justice.

We want to extend a special thanks to Carolynn Barnabe of the JCC for identifying the need to provide this vital training to court staff and organizing the dates and locations for each workshop.
