For the second year in a row, members of the BOLDplanning team gave of their time to pack meals at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, the group was able to inspect, sort and box 8,343 pounds of food. That equates to over 6,200 meals for those in need. Incredibly, one in eight Middle Tennesseans, including one in six children, struggle with hunger daily.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest and most comprehensive of more than 200 food banks and food distribution centers nationwide. During FY18, Second Harvest distributed more than 30 million pounds of food to more than 460 Partner Agencies, providing more than 28 million meals to hungry children, families, and seniors throughout our 46-county service area.
