On November 13, 2019, planning partners, Oregon State Hospital (OSH) and Tennessee-based BOLDplanning, continued the development of OSH’s Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans through a full day of workshops. The workshops took place in Salem, one of OSH’s two campuses (the other is in Junction City). Planning activities were led by BOLDplanning representative, Matt Eyer, PMP, CHS-V, CBCP.
In just a few hours (versus days with traditional, paper-based COOP plans), OSH’s designated planning managers and key departmental leaders were able to review all previously inputted information within BOLDplanning’s cloud-based planning platform. And, they were able to make changes on the fly, helping ensure the plans’ accuracy going forward. Workshop participants were also given the opportunity to share in best practices from Eyer, who has over 15 years of experience in developing detailed preparedness plans in both the public and private sectors.
“When all was said and done, it was clear that OSH had moved much closer to achieving its goal of having robust COOP plans for both its facilities,” said Eyer. “It is always a pleasure to see BOLDplanning customers take such initiative and make so much progress in such a short amount of time.”
OSH provides patient-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults from throughout Oregon who need hospital-level care. Between its two campuses, Salem and Junction City, OSH serves more than 1,500 people per year and employs more than 2,000 staff. OSH operates under the direction of the Oregon Health Authority. OSH has earned The Joint Commission’s gold seal of approval for hospital, behavioral health care and laboratory services.
