School safety. It’s a topic that teachers, administrators, parents and students can relate to these days, especially since the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last year. So it’s good to hear about (and especially participate in) events that focus on safety and address the tough issues faced by our nation’s educators. That’s exactly why BOLDplanning is in Laramie, Wyoming, this week as a Gold Sponsor of the Superintendent’s Policy Summary S5S.

The S5S is a conference that brings together Wyoming professionals in education to share knowledge and expertise on education policy, state accreditation, and school improvement. State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jillian Balow, will host the annual event, which is this year themed “Pursuing Excellence Together.” The conference will be at the UW Gateway Center, and will run October 1-2, 2019. A pre-conference will take place on September 30 with a focus on student safety.

If you are among the many who are in Laramie for this invaluable conference, be sure to stop by the BOLDplanning exhibit. Company representative, Karla O’Grady, PCP (Lvl 1), will be on hand, discussing the importance (and ease) of emergency preparedness planning using the BOLDplanning.com platform. She’ll also be taking names—but in a good way—as the company is giving away a DJI® Spark Mini-Drone and a flatscreen TV before the conference comes to a close.

“It’s a real pleasure to take part in this year’s conference,” said O’Grady. “As a mother and a continuity planner myself, I take great interest in school safety, and truly believe that BOLDplanning can do great things for educators across the state of Wyoming and elsewhere.”
