Good things happen when people work together. And, that’s exactly what did happen in Clackamas County, Oregon, last week. It was there that Tennessee-based BOLDplanning successfully facilitated a Continuity of Operations (COOP) tabletop exercise with planning partner, Clackamas Fire District #1, to further improve emergency preparedness.

With nearly 20 people in attendance, including the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Commanders, and a wide variety of departmental staff, the exercise was both well attended and well received. BOLDplanning representative, Matt Eyer, PMP, CHS-V, CBCP, led all the exercise activities, which included the use of the BOLDplanning.com platform. Clackamas Fire District #1 has relied on the online software for its COOP plans since 2014.

Clackamas Fire District #1 is one of the largest fire protection districts in Oregon, proudly serving over 220,000 citizens and covering nearly 235 square miles. The District’s career and volunteer firefighters respond to tens of thousands of incidents annually from 20 strategically located fire stations. Its service area encompasses four cities, including Happy Valley, Johnson City, Milwaukie, and Oregon City, as well as the numerous unincorporated areas across the county.

As represented by last week’s COOP exercise, Clackamas Fire District #1 remains committed to providing the vital fire and emergency response service their community depends on, no matter the circumstances. And, we, at BOLDplanning, are proud to assist as your planning partner. Thank you so much for your hospitality, your continued support of the company, and of course, for your tireless work to serve the people of Clackamas County.
