It seems like just yesterday when BOLDplanning representatives, Carlin Alford, and Brittney Whatley, CBCP, first met with the City of Powder Springs, Georgia, to discuss the development of their Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan. Actually, it was mid-December 2018. This week (barely three months later) Whatley, along with BOLDplanning Training Manager, Will Minkoff, CBCP, visited the City to conduct two mid-term COOP workshops.
The workshops, which were held on March 11 and 12, gave everyone, Police Chief Tony Bailey and City Manager Pam Connor included, the chance to discuss the progress made to date, as well as an opportunity to learn how to build upon the COOP plan going forward.
“It is always so rewarding to see customers take initiative, and really dive into developing and improving their COOP plans,” says Whatley. “Emergency preparedness is vital to every organization, large or small, public or private, and the City of Powder Springs, Georgia, has clearly made it a top priority among its many departments.”
