With COVID-19 restrictions finally starting to fade in the rearview mirror, the State of Wyoming recently took the opportunity to host remote “mini” (3-hour) Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning workshops statewide.
Coordinated by Matt Fearon, Senior Planner for the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security and BOLDplanning, the first online workshop took place on Friday, May 28, 2021, and the second on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Both were facilitated by BOLDplanning Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Karla O’Grady and Kayla McMahan.
The workshops covered all annexes associated with the State’s COOP plan and provided everyone in attendance, regardless of experience or skill level, the opportunity to expand their knowledge of COOP planning concepts and the BOLDplanning.com platform. State planners already familiar with the platform, dubbed wyoplans.com for the State of Wyoming, used the time to update information in their existing plans. At the same time, those unfamiliar with the platform learned how to create new plans for their respective departments.
The May 28 workshop was attended by 14 participants from the State of Wyoming as was the June 3 one.
On behalf of the entire BOLDplanning team, THANK YOU to everyone for making the mini COOP workshops such a success! Until next time, keep up the great work!
