The Central Florida Disaster Medical Coalition (CFDMC), which develops and promotes healthcare emergency preparedness and response capabilities in the East Central Florida Domestic Security Task Force Region 5 (RDSTF Region 5), safely held its annual conference on December 10 and 11, 2020.

Among those participating in the virtual event were representatives from all nine RDSTF Region 5 counties, Brevard, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, St. Lucie, and Volusia, as well as Tennessee-based BOLDplanning. The company supports CFDMC in its efforts to make its member facilities more resilient to disasters and disruptions through the use of its online platform for Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and expert consultative services

BOLDplanning, as in years past, was asked to conduct COOP planning workshops for coalition members. Company representative, Will Minkoff, CBCP, happily answered the call, sharing his extensive knowledge with workshop participants on Friday, December 11, 2020.

Workshop participants also received a one-year license to BOLDplanning’s cloud-based planning platform at no direct cost, but rather through the coalition. This is just one example of the many great things that healthcare coalitions can do to serve their members and the community at large. And, at BOLDplanning, we are honored to play a role.

“It is always a pleasure to work with the members of CFDMC,” said Minkoff. “Their unwavering commitment to resiliency and the hard work they put into making it a reality for Region 5 is exemplary; they’re a great model for other healthcare coalitions throughout Florida and the rest of the country to follow.”

Healthcare coalitions (like CFDMC) serve as true force multipliers, helping organizations, such as hospitals, health departments, EMS providers, and others, fill critical gaps in emergency preparedness.
