The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management hosted its annual Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan refresher workshop on December 2, 2020.

All county departments were invited to join BOLDplanning’s James Woulfe, CBCP, FEMA Level 1 PCP, as he led a series of two half-day sessions covering the core elements of continuity planning: People, Places, and Things.

Attendees received valuable instruction as well as a full demonstration of the cloud-based BOLDplanning.com platform (it’s the solution of choice for over 10,000 continuity, emergency and mitigation plans nationwide). They also took advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and share best practices as they actively worked to begin updating all departmental plans.

Users commented the strength of the workshop was the ability to walk through each section of the plan and edit as [they] went along. “The hands on interaction and walk through that the instructor did [was most helpful]. We went through each topic for review and allowed time for us to write down any changes or ideas we would need to make on our own plans.” said one of the many attendees.

Special thanks to Gwinnett County Emergency Management Specialists Nancy Coltrin and Michael Shaw for overseeing the county’s continuity program and coordinating the training opportunity for their colleagues.
