It’s been just over a year since members of the BOLDplanning team sat down with the folks in Prince George’s County, Maryland, to begin work on its Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan. And, what a difference that time has made! This week, March 25-29, 2019, the company returned to the County to review the plan’s progress and conduct all-important COOP workshops.
The sessions, which were held in the County’s state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center (EOC), were facilitated by BOLDplanning Vice President of Global Solutions, Cathleen Atchison, MEP, PCP. A variety of COOP-related topics were covered, and over 70 attendees from various County departments had the opportunity to take part in training (introductory, refresher and advanced) on the BOLDplanning platform.
“Knowing such workshops give participants the tools, hands-on experience and confidence needed to improve preparedness, it is always good to have such a great turnout and share in everyone’s enthusiasm,” said Atchison. “At this rate, I can only imagine how much stronger Prince George’s County’s COOP plan will be when the BOLDplanning team returns for workshops this summer.”
